About me

I am a third year PhD student at the University of Colorado at Boulder studying Computer Science. My research interests primarily revolve around High Performance Scientific Computing, which includes supercomputers, heterogeneous clusters, emerging parallel architectures, high-throughput storage and networks, etc. Within the last couple of years I have obtained a fair amount of experience in parallel and distributed programming, system administration, performance analysis and large-scale data analysis. In addition to my main focus, I find almost anything related to CS fascinating.

I was born and raised in Russia, in the city of Samara. I got my BS degree in Applied Math and Computer Science from Samara State Aerospace University. During those four years I obtained a solid introduction to CS, took many Applied Math classes, was involved in several research projects. Previous to the university, I attended Samara International Aerospace Lyceum, a high school affiliated with the university, which is known for its strong math and physics program. There I had excellent teachers who prepared me for studying at the university and I also met some of my best friends.

In my spare time I like to go hiking, ride my mountain bike, play intramural sports, read books, volunteer for Boulder Food Rescue, etc. You can learn more about my interests on the Interests tab.
